Instructions:

STEP 1 Follow baking directions on sugar cookie pouch, dividing dough evenly into 12 round cookies.

STEP 2 On cooled cookies, draw a “hats” with red or green cookie icing.

EXPERT TIP: Draw the outline of the hat, then go back and fill in the shape.

STEP 3 While the icing is still wet, immediately coat the hat shapes in red or green sugar to match the icing.

STEP 4 With white cookie icing, draw “faces” – filling in the remainder of the cookies with “hats” and a full face circle on the cookies without hats.

STEP 5 MAKE THE EYES & MOUTHS: Using a small dots of black cookie icing, draw eyes and a mouth onto the faces. When placing the candy eyeballs, use a small dot of white cookie icing to stick them on.

STEP 6 MAKE THE NOSES: Using orange writing gel, draw carrot noses. IF USING CANDIES: Affix orange candy piece to face with dot of white cookie icing.

STEP 7 MAKE THE EARMUFFS: Using red or green cookie icing, draw a line across the top of the snowman’s head to create the “band”. To make sugar earmuffs, make a large dot of red or green cookie icing at each end of the “band” and coat with matching sugar. To make candy earmuffs, affix each candy piece with a small dot of coordinating cookie icing.

STEP 7 FINISH THE HATS: Using small dots of white cookie icing, attach snowflake sprinkles to the hats. To make “pompoms”, attach tip #18 to the white decorating icing and pipe a star at the top of the hat.

STEP 8 Allow cookies to set for at least one hour before serving.
