Ingredients:

12 1.5” round sugar cookies

1 box Chocolate Cake mix

Ingredients called for on Cake Mix Box

1 Pouch Cake Mate® Decorating Icing in White

2 Pouches Cake Mate® Decorating Icing in Black

1 Package Cake Mate® Decorating Tips

1 Bottle Cake Mate® White Shimmer Sugar

1 Bottle Cake Mate® Silver Shimmer Sugar

Instructions:

STEP 1 Bake your favorite rolled sugar cookies, cut with 1.5” round cutter.

STEP 2 Let cookies cool completely.

STEP 3 Prepare cake mix according to the box instructions for cupcakes.

STEP 4 Let cupcakes cool completely.

STEP 5 Using Cake Mate® Decorating Icing in white, attach tip #5 and pipe a layer of icing on each cookie.

STEP 6 Coat each cookie in Cake mate® White Shimmer Sugar.

STEP 7 Using Cake Mate® Decorating Icing in black, attach tip #2D and pipe a rosette on each cupcake.

STEP 8 Sprinkle the top of each cupcake with Cake Mate® Silver Shimmer Sugar

STEP 7 Just before serving, carefully set the cookies on top of the cupcakes.

EXPERT TIP: For greater stability, immediately insert a short lollipop stick into each cookie after baking. Then let the cookie “pops” cool completely. Make sure the stick isn’t too long or the moon will hover over the cupcakes instead of sitting on top.
