Almond Spritz Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup Butter, softened

½ cup Sugar

½ cup packed Brown Sugar

1 Large Egg

1 tsp Almond Extract

2 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour

¼ tsp Baking Soda

¼ tsp Salt

1 Pouch Cake Mate® Cookie Icing in Chocolate

1 Tub Cake Mate® Blue & White Sprinkles

Instructions:

STEP 1 Preheat oven to 375° F. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

STEP 2 In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg and almond extract until combined.

STEP 3 Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until well combined.

STEP 4 Using a cookie press fitted with the disc of your choice (we opted to make finger cookies), press the dough onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet 2 inches apart.

STEP 5 Bake for 7-9 minutes or until edges are just golden. Cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

STEP 6 Dip or drizzle the end of each cookie in Cake Mate® Chocolate Cookie Icing, then add Cake Mate® Blue & White Sprinkles.

STEP 7 Allow cookies to set at least 1 hour before serving.
