Patriotic Ruffled Cupcakes

These summer time cupcakes are adorably red, white and ruffled!
Using Cake Mate’s® easy to use decorating tips, quickly decorate these patriotic cupcakes using a classic ruffled technique.
1 box of your favorite cake mix
Blue Cake Mate® Tube Icing
White Cake Mate® Tube Icing
Red Cake Mate® Tube Icing
1 Package Cake Mate® 8-pack Decorating Tips
1 Package Cake Mate® All American No Fade Cupcake Liners
Step 1 Bake cupcakes using Cake Mate® All American No Fade Cupcake Liners. Let cupcakes cool completely.
Step 2 Attach a #97 icing tip to the blue icing tube.
Step 3 Hold the blue icing tube at a 45° angle with the wide end of the tip lightly touching the surface. Glide your icing with steady pressure moving your wrist up and down.
Step 4 To release, touch your icing tip to the surface of the cupcake, stop, and pull away.
Step 5 Clean and attach the #97 icing tip to the white icing. With the white icing, make a smaller circle using the same technique.
Step 6 Repeat making a final, red ruffled circle on the top of the cupcakes.
