Elegantly dressed, these stylish Black and White Bow Tie Cupcakes will make your next event unforgettable.

Ingredients:

1 box of your favorite cake mix

White Cake Mate® Tube Icing

Black Cake Mate® Tube Icing

1 Package Cake Mate® Metallic Polka Dot Cupcake Liners

1 Bottle Cake Mate® White Decorating Sugar

1 Package Cake Mate® 8-pack Decorating Tips

Instructions:

Step 1  Bake cupcakes using Cake Mate® Metallic Polka Dot Cupcake Liners.

Step 2  Let cupcakes cool completely.

Step 3  Using White Cake Mate® Tube Icing, cover the cupcake top entirely with white icing.

Step 4  Cover the white icing layer with Cake Mate® White Decorating Sugar.

Step 5  Using the Black Cake Mate® Tube Icing fastened with a #5 decorating tip, carefully pipe the outline of the bowtie at the center of the cupcake. Apply medium pressure at a 45° and make a figure eight motion with the tube icing to create the bowtie.

Step 6  Fill in the two sides of the bow tie with the black icing.

Step 7  Pipe one large dot at the center of the bow tie.   

Step 8  Pipe three small dots in a vertical line below the bow tie to finish.
